More than 1 billion people across the globe have a daily budget of $1.25 for food, medicine and shelter.
A child born in the world’s poorest nations has a 1 in 6 chance of dying before his/her fifth birthday.
Yearly, developing countries are robbed over $1 trillion that could fight poverty, disease and hunger.
What does #NoPoverty mean as a goal?
We have a couple of targets that we are trying to hit by 2030, the world’s major deadline. Meaning, if we hit them, we achieve the overall goal.
1.) No extreme poverty, NO ONE living with less than 1.25 USD a day.
By 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day!
2.) Those living in poverty, we want to reduce that in HALF.
By 2030, reduce at least by half the proportion of men, women, and children of all ages living in poverty in all its dimensions according to national definitions.
3.) No matter who you are, YOU have equal rights to economic resources.
By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular, the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance.
