Affordable and Clean Energy
15% of all humans live without electricity.
Three billion people rely on wood, coal, charcoal or animal waste for cooking and heating.
Only 6% of the energy used worldwide comes from renewable sources.
What does #CleanEnergy mean as a goal?
We have a couple of targets that we are trying to hit by 2030, the world’s major deadline. Meaning, if we hit them, we achieve the overall goal.
1.) Everyone has access to energy.
By 2030, ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services.
2.) Double the energy efficiency.
By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency.
3.) Up-to-date infrastructure and technology to supply energy for all.
By 2030, expand infrastructure and upgrade technology for supplying modern and sustainable energy services for all in developing countries, in particular, least developed countries, small island developing States, and land-locked developing countries, in accordance with their respective programmes of support.
